Lok Sabha elections: Rs 11.66 lakh unaccounted money seized in Salem region

SALEM: Flying squad officials across Salem region – consisting of Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts -- seized Rs 11.66 lakh in unaccounted money on Monday.

The district administrations formed flying squads after the model code of conduct effect.

Flying squad officials in Salem district seized Rs 4.02 lakh unaccounted money.

Officials in Krishnagiri district seized Rs 5.69 lakh unaccounted money while Rs 1.95 lakh was seized in Dharmapuri district.

“The unaccounted money was deposited in government treasury. The money will be given back to the concerned people once they produce valid receipts and documents,” a flying squad official said.
