PATIALA: The police have arrested six drug peddlers from different parts of the city in three separate cases.
The police recovered 200g heroin from four drug peddlers during checking near Shambu barrier, while two others were nabbed with contraband including 800 narcotic tablets in two separate cases.
The accused have been identified as Ramit Sharma, Adarsh Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, all residents of Hoshiarpur and Rohit Kumar of Gobindgarh, Mohali . Investigation officer Gurmeet Singh said the accused were travelling in a car and were frisked at the barrier when 200g heroin was recovered from them during checking. They were nabbed and a case against them was registered under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS )Act.
Similarly, the Civil Line police and Tripuri police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband from their possession. The Civil Line police nabbed Chetan Singh along with 210 narcotic tablets while Tripuri police nabbed Gurjinder Singh along with 600 narcotic tablets during checking.
