Man City get significant injury boost ahead of Arsenal - but two stars miss training

Manchester City have been handed a significant injury boost ahead of their crucial Premier League clash with Arsenal, but two key players still missed their latest training session.

Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Matheus Nunes and Kyle Walker all suffered injuries during the international break, causing concern for boss Pep Guardiola.

However, Thursday's training session brought some relief for City as Stones and Walker were the only players still absent.

Jack Grealish, Ederson and Kevin De Bruyne also took part in training, having chosen to focus on their recovery rather than join their national teams. This leaves Stones and Walker as the main injury worries ahead of a vital period for the club.

City are currently one point behind Arsenal and Liverpool in the league table and will be looking to capitalise on their upcoming home games. They face Arsenal on Sunday and then Aston Villa - who are aiming for a top four finish and were the last team to defeat them in any competition back in December - on Wednesday.

A Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid is also coming up for Arsenal, with the first leg taking place on April 9 at the Bernabeu.
