Man dies after being hit by MLA's car in Jalaun

Jhansi: The car of BJP MLA from Basti, Sanjay Jaiswal, rammed a bike near Mijhona village under Madhogarh police station in Jalaun, killing the biker and leaving two others riding pillion critically injured. The MLA was present in the car at the time of the accident, police said.

Jaiswal was returning from Datia in Madhya Pradesh when his car veered out of control, triggering the tragedy.The three lay in a pool of blood before residents rushed them to a community health centre.

The biker, Upendra Dohre, 28, was declared dead while two others, Prince Verma, and Nitin Lehar were referred to Jhansi Medical College.

The driver, Anil Kumar Yadav, was booked by the Madhogarh police under Section 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by endangering life), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act of endangering life), 304A (causing death by negligence) of IPC.

Talking to TOI, SP Jalaun, Satish Kumar said, “We have detained the vehicle and the MLA’s driver. The legislator, Sanjay Jaiswal, was inside the car when it hit the bike.”

He wanted to meet the victims at the community health centre, but we feared of reprisals from family members of the victims and stopped him,” he added.
