Man held for killing pregnant woman in Allahabad
Allahabad: Dhoomanganj police on Friday arrested a man for killing a 20-year-old pregnant woman and throwing her body near the railway track on September 2.
The accused, Jitendra Kumar Pasi (25) of Dasu Ka Purwa in Kaushambi, was arrested near Mundera Mandi area of Allahabad while he was trying to escape from the city.
Police recovered two mobile phones, including that of the murdered woman, from his possession.
Confessing to his crime, Jitendra claimed that he had an affair with the woman for the last two years but she started threatening him that she would frame him under false charges after she got pregnant a few months ago.
Inspector, Dhoomanganj, VK Singh said, “Police received information about the unclaimed body of a woman near railway track on September 2. The post-mortem report revealed that the woman, who was pregnant for seven months, had been strangled. We contacted her family members in Kaushambi who identified the body.”

Jitendra told police that he killed the woman at his rented accommodation and threw the body near railway tracks to mislead cops.
Further investigations are on in the case.
