Man kills son in Tripura
AGARTALA: A man was arrested in the remote Sonaichari village of Belonia in South Tripura on Thursday night for allegedly killing his 18-yr-old son. The accused, Saranjoy Tripura , has confessed to police that he had hit his son, Oli Mohan, with a chopper but did not realise the bizarre consequence. According to Saranjoy, Oli used to lead an indisciplined life and was addicted to liquor.
About six months ago, his mother died and he turned more reckless. He added that Oli often used to pressure him for money.
On Thursday morning, Oli demanded money from his father and started beating him with his shoes when the latter refused, police said. They added that Saranjoy could not control his temper and hit his son with a chopper. Oli died on the spot.
