Mandsaur: Professor's family swept away in floods while taking selfie

Mandsaur: In yet another case of negligent behaviour, a family of a professor swept away in floodwaters while they tried to take a selfie in Mandsaur district of Mandya Pradesh. The professor's wife and daughter have died in the incident.

While the body of the professor's wife has been retrieved, officials are trying to locate the body of his daughter.

The incident happened at Choudhary Colony when the family ventured outside their home to witnessed heavy floods and tried to take a selfie at a raised platform, which caved in due to floods. 

The professor identified as RD Gupta was rescued by the locals. He also got his hand fractured in the incident.  The heavy rains in the district have led to flood and many villages have submerged in the water.

Many districts of the state are also facing flood-like situation. Till now, around 3 people have died in the floods in the state. The teams of  National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and  State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) continue to engage in flood relief and rescue operations.

The Met Department hasn't predicted any relief from rains in the coming days.
