Meerut: Brothers abduct and gang-rape college student; one arrested, one still at large

Meerut: A shocking incident surfaced from Meerut after two brothers allegedly abducted and gang-raped a college student. The accused allegedly threatened the victim of uploading the video of the obscene act online. The accused stay in the same village as the victim. 

The accused were identified as Himanshu and Dipanshu.

While one of the accused was arrested, the other managed to escape. The victim is a college student and is pursuing BCA. 

Following the incident, the victim narrated her ordeal to her parents. The parents approached the police and lodged a complaint of abduction and gang-rape. Station in charge of Kanker Khera, Anand Mishra stated that the they registered a complaint against the accused and recorded the victim's statement. 

Investigation revealed that the victim had alleged eve-teasing from the accused and had approached the police last year in relation to the same. It is a matter of extreme sorrow that a village panchayat decided to let off the two men merely by discussing the incident. 

In another incident, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by seven people in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. Three of the accused were brothers. The accused were identified as Bane Singh, Dewan, Ghanshyam, Mangilal, Durgalal, Pappu and Magilal. 

The accused were booked under Section 376D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). It was alleged that the victim had gone to relieve herself when she was abducted and gang-raped by the accused. A medical examination of the victim was conducted after the complaint was filed.
