Miscreants stone traffic signals at old market circle in Margao

Colva: Two traffic lights at the old market circle in Margao have been damaged by miscreants and even a week later the authorities remain unaware about it.

The interesting point to note is that it is not only the damaged traffic lights that have escaped the notice of the traffic personnel, but also the cameras fitted at the circle.

They stopped functioning nearly two years ago and are yet to be repaired.

Deputy superintendent of police (traffic) Praboth Shirvaikar said he is had not been informed about the malfunctioning equipment by personnel deputed at the circle. “I will instruct the agency concerned to get it replaced,” Shirvaikar said.
