Mobiles, contraband recovered from Patiala jails

Patiala: Two mobiles and contraband have been recovered from the maximum security jail, Nabha, and the Patiala Central Jail in two separate cases. The jail officials failed to identify the culprits in the cases as they said that the mobiles and the contraband were lying abandoned in the jail.

This is not the first time that mobiles have been recovered from jails, including Nabha jail.

On July 8, two mobile phones and 45 narcotic tablets were recovered from an inmate when he was frisked after returning to the maximum security jail from a court hearing and before that, two mobile phones were recovered in the jail on July 1.

On June 24, just two days after the murder of a Dera follower in the New Nabha jail, the cops found two mobile phones from there.

In April, 25 narcotic tablets and a mobile phone without a SIM card were recovered from a Patiala Central Jail inmate during a surprise check.
