Mohali: Double murder cracked, one held

MOHALI: Mohali police cracked the double murder case with the arrest of the main accused on Thursday. Fazaluddin Khan (55) and Ajay Kumar (30) were hacked to death at a farm house at Chhat village in Zirakpur on July 9.


Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Harcharan Singh Bhullar said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) collected proof and managed to apprehend main accused Ashok Kumar Paswan, a native of Shakarvihar village in Samastipur , Bihar .

The SSP said during interrogation, Ashok confessed that he along with his two brothers - Santosh Kumar, Suraj Kumar - and nephew Krrish had committed the crime. The SSP said while Ashok has been arrested, Santosh, Suraj and Krish are absconding and a team has been sent to Samastipur to arrest them.

Explaining the motive of the murder, the SSP said Ashok confessed that Ajay had illicit relation with his wife and he had even warned him against it, but Ajay did not heed to it.

So, Ashok talked to his brothers and they all planned to eliminate Ajay. On the night of the crime, all four reached the farmhouse where Ajay was sleeping and killed him there on the spot. But soon after, two pet dogs of Ajay started barking that woke up Fazaluddin Khan who was sleeping in a shed nearby.

Ashok's nephew Krish then attacked Fazaluddin with a brick, killing him on the spot, police officials claimed.
