Mom drowns 2-day-old girl child in Dausa

JAIPUR: In a shocking incident, a mother killed her two-day-old girl child in Dausa by drowning her in a water tank on Wednesday.

The Kotwali police arrested the accused mother Yasmin who told cops during interrogation that she already had two boys and she did not wish to have a third child. The police said that Yasmin took the infant out when her husband had gone out of the house and threw her into the water tank.

She later locked the door of the tank from the outside. “The woman has been sent to judicial custody. She has admitted to her crime and claimed that she did not want to have a third child,” the official informed TOI, adding that the police recovered the body on her indication.

“The father was devastated as he did not anticipate that her wife could have done such an act. He claimed that his wife never told him that she never wanted a girl child,” the official said.
