MP: Barwani groom leaves baraat to join IAF air strike celebrations

BARWANI: Overjoyed by the surgical pounding of Jaish terror bases, a dulha couldn't hold back his josh any longer, and left his baraat in MP's Barwani to dance with a group celebrating the air strike.

Since it's inauspicious for a groom to get off his horse, Ganesh Sukhlal Deore's cousin carried him on his shoulders while he waved the Tricolour and danced at gates of the 10th century Sendhwa fort.

After news of air strike on Jaish terror bases broke on Tuesday, people of all communities took to the streets and spontaneous celebrations erupted. Sweets went around and crackers were burst.

Ganesh's baraat had just left his home in Shastri Nagar, when they learnt of the air raid. A little while later, they came across a group beating drums and dancing at abandon to celebrate the strikeback. Fireworks were going off and the crowd was cheering ' Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.

The groom got excited and asked baraatis to hand him a Tricolor. He started waving it and then wanted to join the dancing party. Tradition dictates that he cannot set foot on ground until he reaches bride's house, so his cousin got an uplifting idea. He asked the groom to climb on to his shoulder and carried him to the gates of fort . Harish Kanungo and Rajesh Garg, who were part of cheering party at fort, were delighted. "We didn't expect such surprise. It doubled our joy to see dulha dancing with us," they said.
