Mumbai: MSEDCL consumers to get SMS a day prior to meter reading

MUMBAI: To avoid inconvenience to electricity consumers, to provide accurate meter reading and electricity bill and to bring transparency, MSEDCL will give a day's prior intimation about the date and time of meter reading to consumers on their registered mobile number through SMS .

Said an official, "The meter reading slots will be 8-10 am, 10am to 12pm, 12-3 pm and 3-5 pm.

Consumers can be present during the time of their meter reading and ensure that the reading was taken properly and accurately."

Since August 2016, MSEDCL has begun taking meter reading through the Mahavitaran Mobile App. This made the billing process accurate to a large extent, the official added.
