Naidu, Pawan promise completion of Machilipatnam port to usher in growth

Vijayawada: Former chief minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday said that by neglecting the Machilipatnam port project, the ruling party has deprived thousands of local youth job opportunities and development to the region.

Addressing public gatherings at Pedana and Machilipatnam, Naidu and Pawan assured to complete Machilipatnam port to usher industrial growth and to develop Kalamkari cluster at Pedana.

Highlighting the plight of Pedana Kalamkari workers, Pawan Kalyan said that despite the GI tag for the indigenous art form, more than 18,000 workers are struggling to meet the ends.

He observed that the weavers and Kalamkari workers are committing suicides because of lack of required support from the govt.

He emphasized that preventing worker suicides is the primary goal of NDA alliance.

He also pledged to assist fishermen in accessing Union govt schemes to support the blue revolution.

Addressing the lack of job opportunities for youth due to the absence of major industries, Kalyan assured that job creation would be a top priority for the NDA alliance.

He defended forming an alliance for the state's welfare and to protect democracy from YSRCP's draconian rule which destroyed the state in every aspect.

Naidu urged all concerned about the state's future to support the NDA, regardless of party lines.

Naidu argued that Pedana could have prospered if the Amaravati and Machilipatnam port projects had been completed. He also claimed that Jagan Mohan Reddy had cancelled over 100 welfare schemes and failed to fulfil his promises.

Naidu warned that the Land Titling Act could endanger private property security and noted that more than 40 lakh construction workers are suffering due to flawed policies and rising cement and steel prices.

He said that the Machilipatnam port project was delayed because of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s greed for commissions. He promised to develop industrial cluster at Machilipatnam and revive development in the region by providing job opportunities to youth.
