New collector takes charge

Madurai: Dr T G Vinay has assumed charge as the Madurai district collector on Monday and promised to give importance to water management and conservation.

A native of Tumkur in Karnataka, he is a qualified MBBS graduate. Vinay has previously held the post of sub collector, Namakkal, additional collector, Karur, deputy commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, Dindigul collector and Ariyalur collector.

Vinay is the 213th collector of Madurai, he succeeds T S Rajasekhar.

Vinay belongs to 2009 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. Soon after assuming charge the district collector participated in the district grievance day. TNN
