Bajaj Auto has recently launched a new variant of its popular electric scooter, the Chetak. Named the 'Chetak Urbane,' this electric vehicle (EV) is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh, ex-showroom. For those looking for additional features, there's an optional 'Tecpac' upgrade available at an extra cost, bringing the total to Rs 1.21 lakh, ex-showroom.

Enhanced Range and Performance
The Chetak Urbane comes equipped with the familiar 2.9kWh battery pack found in the existing model. Impressively, it claims an IDC-verified range of 113 km on a full charge, surpassing the Premium variant's ARAI-certified range of 108 km.

While the standard top speed matches the existing model at 63 kmph, the Tecpac upgrade unlocks a higher top speed of 73 kmph. This enhancement is complemented by a sport mode and features like hill-hold assist, reverse mode, and comprehensive app connectivity.

Charging Considerations
It's worth noting that the Chetak Urbane has experienced a slight increase in charging time, now taking 4 hours and 50 minutes to fully charge, compared to the 3 hours and 50 minutes for the existing model. This change is attributed to a decrease in the charging rate from 800W to 650W for the new entrant.

Stylish Options and Instrumentation
The Chetak Urbane is available in four distinctive colour options: Matte Coarse Grey, Cyber White, Brooklyn Black, and Indigo Metallic. The scooter also features the same colour LCD instrument cluster found in the Premium variant, adding a touch of sophistication to the riding experience.
