Hyundai Motor India has made a major announcement, revealing plans to hike the prices of several models from January 1, 2024. This move aligns with the company's annual pricing strategy and is a response to various factors including escalating input costs, unfavorable exchange rates, and a surge in commodity prices. Notably, this decision mirrors similar actions by other leading car manufacturers in India like Maruti Suzuki , Tata Motors , and Mahindra & Mahindra, who have also indicated price hikes starting in January 2024.
Tarun Garg , COO of Hyundai Motor India , explained, “At Hyundai Motor India, we always try to absorb the cost escalations to the extent possible and ensure continuous customer delight. However, it has now become imperative to pass on some portion of the rising input cost to the market through a minor price increase. The price hike will be effective from January 1st, 2024.”
In addition to this price adjustment, Hyundai has unveiled plans to launch the Creta facelift in the Indian market during January. Expected to replace the current model, the new SUV is likely to see a slight uptick in pricing. The revamped Creta is anticipated to feature significant exterior changes, particularly upfront. Alongside these alterations, Hyundai is poised to revamp its features list to intensify competition within the compact SUV segment.
Having dominated its segment, the Creta has been a top-seller for Hyundai. With the imminent facelift, the company aims to bolster sales and cater to the increasing demands in this segment.
