While it comes equipped with essential features such as ABS, ESP, traction control, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and height-adjustable driver’s seat, it lacks some convenience features, which has impacted its popularity.
- Tata Nexon
Tata has done an excellent job by equipping all variants of the Nexon with the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which produces 118bhp and 170Nm of torque. The base variant offers a 5-speed manual gearbox, while higher trims feature a 6-speed manual and DCT gearbox. The recent facelift of the Nexon brings a modern design and a host of new features, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, 9-speaker JBL audio system, blind view monitor, Harman AudioworX, and height-adjustable driver and co-driver seats. Tata claims the Tiago EV can sprint from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds. It also comes with a variety of features, including cruise control, multi-level regenerative braking, connected car features, and leatherette upholstery. Additional features include a 7-inch infotainment system, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, and automatic climate control. The Tiago EV is priced between Rs 8.42 lakh and Rs 12.61 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
- Mahindra XUV300
Mahindra, like Tata, offers a turbo petrol engine from the base model in its XUV300. The base variant starts at Rs 9.39 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and features a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 109bhp and 200Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a manual or AMT gearbox. Mahindra is also preparing a facelift for the XUV300, which will introduce a new design and additional features, though the engine specifications are expected to remain unchanged.
