Jaipur Hit By A Series Of Early Morning Earthquakes, No Casualties Reported

Jaipur : In the early hours of Friday, Jaipur experienced a rare occurrence as it was hit by three consecutive earthquakes within just half an hour. The National Center for Seismology ( NCS ) reported the seismic activity, providing details of each tremor.


The latest earthquake , with a magnitude of 3.4, struck at approximately 4:25 am, according to the NCS. It was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers below the surface.

"Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.4, Occurred on 21-07-2023, 04:25:33 IST, Lat: 26.87 & Long: 75.69, Depth: 10 Km ,Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan , India," the National Center for Seismology (NCS) tweeted.


Before this, at 4:22 am, a quake of magnitude 3.1 was felt, originating from a depth of 5 kilometers.

"Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.1, Occurred on 21-07-2023, 04:22:57 IST, Lat: 26.67 & Long: 75.70, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan, India," the NCS tweeted.


The first tremor occurred at 4:09 am, also at a depth of 10 kilometers, and had a magnitude of 4.4.



The NCS had previously tweeted, "Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.4, Occurred on 21-07-2023, 04:09:38 IST, Lat: 26.88 & Long: 75.70, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan, India."

Thankfully, there have been no reports of casualties or significant damages resulting from these earthquakes so far. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.


In response to the seismic activity, former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje , tweeted, "Earthquake tremors have been felt at other places in the state including Jaipur. I hope you all are safe!"



As the situation develops, the local authorities will continue to assess the impact of the earthquakes and take necessary measures to address any potential concerns in the affected areas.
