Delhi University (DU) kicked off the 2024-25 academic year with a buzz of excitement as new undergraduates arrived on campus this Thursday. North Campus was alive with students and families making their way to DU’s 69 colleges, reflecting the university's commitment to a welcoming environment.
The campus was decked out with colorful posters and anti-ragging messages, while police and volunteers ensured a smooth and secure welcome. Senior students greeted the newcomers with chocolates and flowers, adding a personal touch to the festivities.
This year, DU welcomed over 65,000 students across 1,500+ undergraduate programs out of a total of 71,600 seats. Admissions continue, with a third round for performance-based and quota-based programs. Students need to finalize their choices by August 30 via the Delhi University CSAS portal.

Anjali, a new BA (Hons) English student at Hansraj College, shared her excitement: “I am very happy to have finally made it to the college of my choice. I was quite tense when the CUET results were delayed. I was eager to start college life . My first impression of the college is good and I hope it continues to be so.”
Radha Saini, whose son Udhai is starting BA (Hons) Economics at Hansraj College, added, “We are happy that our child has been admitted here. It’s a nice college and I hope he studies well.”

Posted by @ashima_gandhi, the performance, featuring an elegant saree and energetic moves, quickly racked up over 86,000 likes. Viewers praised the performance, with comments like, "I’m watching it over and over and wishing this would happen to me just for once," and "You won the internet girl, superb."
