Sanjay Saha , a filmmaker and producer known for his work on " Haddi ," featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui , found himself in legal trouble as he was apprehended by MIDC police on Sunday.

The arrest stems from allegations of defrauding actor Vivek Oberoi and his company of Rs 1.55 crores during the period spanning from 2022 to 2023, encompassing charges of forgery, breach of trust, theft of cash, and deceit.

Vivek Oberoi and his wife, Priyanka, established an LLP firm named Oberoi Mega Entertainment, with a focus on promoting organic products, as indicated in the lawsuit initiated by Oberoi's manager, Deven Bafna. It was during this period that Saha, representing himself as a member of the film industry, introduced himself to Oberoi and persuaded him to invest in the field of event management.

Collaboratively, Oberoi and Saha established a fresh enterprise named "Anandita Entertainment," in which Saha's wife, Radhika Nanda, and mother, Nandita Saha, joined as partners. In 2021, the company took on the responsibility of marketing Nawazuddin Siddiqui's forthcoming film, "Haddi." Given Oberoi's demanding schedule, the day-to-day management of the company was entrusted to Saha and his spouse.

Nevertheless, Oberoi subsequently unearthed that Anandita Entertainment had executed substantial fund transfers without offering any substantiated justifications. It came to light that Saha had purportedly diverted funds for personal expenditures, such as acquiring Tata AIG life insurance valued at Rs 5 lakh, disbursing Radhika's salary amounting to Rs 10 lakh, and procuring jewelry. In the aggregate, Anandita Entertainment had allegedly siphoned off Rs 58 lakh.

Following the receipt of a complaint, law enforcement apprehended Saha and subsequently presented him before the local court. The court, in response, remanded him into police custody for a period of seven days. Presently, authorities are actively pursuing leads in their search for Saha's wife, Radhika Nanda, and mother, Nandita Saha, both of whom are suspected of being linked to the purported fraudulent activities.

Vivek Oberoi's legal representatives, Amar Thakur and Prerak Choudhary, have asserted that this is merely the initial phase, as Saha is believed to have defrauded numerous other individuals. Additionally, the police have disclosed that Saha has faced prior arrests in distinct cases of deception by both the Oshiwara and cyber police.
