IMDb unveiled its compilation of the top 10 most popular Indian movies of 2023 that had a theatrical release between January 1 and November 6 this year. The rankings were determined by analyzing the page views generated by over 200 million visitors globally. This year's selection encompasses films across various languages like Jawan and Leo, all of which boasted a user rating of 5 or higher, solidifying their status as beloved choices among fans.


1. Jawan
Atlee is overjoyed that his Shah Rukh Khan-led film "Jawan" has secured the top spot on the list. He says, “Jawan is a captivating action entertainer that portrays the emotional odyssey of a man determined to rectify social injustices. The reception and love it received from audiences worldwide is overwhelming.”


2. Pathaan
This year welcomed another Shah Rukh Khan-led film into the mix. Directed by Siddharth Anand, it introduced a fresh R&AW agent into the YRF spy universe. In this movie, Shah Rukh Khan portrayed an R&AW agent who assembled a specialized unit to accomplish a mission: thwarting a terrorist (portrayed by John Abraham) and preventing havoc in the country.



3. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
The movie starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt captured the audience's hearts this year for all the right reasons. director Karan Johar says, “The team and I are overwhelmed with the love and warmth we have received for the film. To be on this list of IMDb is a massive validation, I feel more energized as a filmmaker now.”

4. Leo
The latest addition to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s thrilling Lokesh Cinematic Universe is "Leo," following the successes of "Kaithi" and "Vikram." Starring Vijay and Trisha in the lead roles, this Tamil film is an adaptation of the 2005 English movie and the 1997 graphic novel titled "A History of Violence.


5. OMG 2
The sequel to "OMG!" delivered a vital lesson on sex education that was much needed. Starring Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles, this satirical comedy appears to have successfully followed up on the success of its predecessor as a worthy sequel.



6. Jailer
Rajinikanth starred in a film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, portraying a retired jailer whose peaceful life is disrupted by a significant event. This Tamil movie also featured cameo appearances by popular actors Shiva Rajkumar from Kannada cinema and Mohanlal from Malayalam cinema, much to the joy of their fans.

Adah Sharma portrays Shalini Unnikrishnan, a college student from Kerala, whose life, faith, and identity are shattered by religious extremism. While opinions among audiences may have been divided about the film, its title certainly gained enough popularity to secure a spot on the list.


9 Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar
This Luv Ranjan rom-com left the audience split as much as his previous films did. Ranbir Kapoor plays a carefree businessman and womaniser, while Shraddha Kapoor plays an ambitious chartered accountant in this comedic film.



10. Bholaa
Bholaa is a Hindi adaptation of the 2019 Tamil movie "Kaithi." Ajay Devgn portrays a truck driver recently freed from prison, unexpectedly entangled in a sprawling conspiracy that surpasses his own circumstances. The entire narrative unfolds within the confines of a single night.
