YouTuber Devraj Patel Of 'Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai' Fame Dies In Chhattisgarh Road Accident, Investigation Underway

Popular YouTuber Devraj Patel , with 444K subscribers on YouTube, tragically passed away at the age of 22 following a fatal accident in Raipur, Chattisgarh.

Reports indicate that Patel met with the accident when a truck brushed against his motorcycle, causing him to fall off. According to a police official quoted by the news agency PTI, the incident occurred around 3:30 pm on Monday as Patel was returning from Nava Raipur after filming a video for his channel ' Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai .' The accident took place in the Labhandi area within the jurisdiction of Telibandha police station.

"The accident occurred near Labhandi area under Telibandha police station limits when the handle of the motorcycle hit the truck which was going in the same direction, and Patel, who was riding pillion, came under the rear wheel of the heavy vehicle," stated the official, as reported by PTI.

Bike rider Rakesh Manhar , who escaped unhurt in the accident, immediately called for an ambulance, and Patel was swiftly rushed to a hospital where he was tragically pronounced dead.

According to an ANI report, the driver responsible for the accident has been detained, and the truck involved has been seized.

Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Expressing his sorrow over the incident, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said Patel had confirmed the news on social media.

" Devraj Patel , who made his place among crores of people with 'Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai' who made us all laugh, left us today. The loss of an amazing talent at this young age is very sad. May God give strength to his family and loved ones to bear this loss. Om Shanti," Baghel tweeted.

In 2021, Patel had the opportunity to film a video with CM Baghel at the official residence, during which he humorously stated, "Only two persons are famous in Chhattisgarh. I and our 'kaka' (Baghel is popularly called kaka, which means uncle)."

Originally from the Mahasamund district, Patel had been residing in a rented house in Raipur.

Renowned for his witty style and amusing videos, Patel rose to internet stardom after his video titled 'Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai' went viral in August 2020 during the pandemic, garnering over 1.7 million views. Just six months after gaining fame, he was honoured with the YouTube Silver Play Button in March 2021.

Content creators with over 100K subscribers receive the Silver Creator Award, while the Gold and Diamond awards are earned by those reaching 1 million and 10 million subscribers, respectively.

Patel had also collaborated with renowned YouTuber Bhuvan Bam in the comedy web series " Dhindora ."
