YouTuber Hindustani Bhau Files FIR Against Farah Khan Over Her Holi Comment
YouTuber and former Bigg Boss contestant Vikas Fhatak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, has moved the Bombay High Court seeking an FIR against Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan over her alleged remarks on Holi.
Fhatak's plea, filed by advocate Ali Kaashif Khan, claims that Farah Khan referred to Holi as a "festival for the Chhapris" during an episode of Celebrity MasterChef. The petition argues that the remark has hurt religious sentiments and caused public outrage. Despite filing complaints at Khar Police Station and escalating the matter to senior officials, no FIR has been registered, the plea states.
"The remarks made on the show are irresponsible and threaten communal harmony," the petition states, further alleging that the police's inaction amounts to dereliction of duty. "Despite multiple complaints, no action has been taken," it adds.
The episode in question aired on February 20.
Fhatak also mentioned that he has approached multiple police stations and higher authorities, but has yet to receive a response. However, an earlier report suggested that he had filed a complaint against Farah Khan at Khar Police Station through his lawyer, Advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh.
The petition demands the immediate registration of an FIR, disciplinary action against the police officials involved, and legal proceedings under sections 196 (promoting enmity or disharmony between different groups based on religion, race), 299 (deliberate and malicious insult to religious beliefs), 302 (uttering words to wound religious feelings), and 353 (spreading false information or rumors with malicious intent) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
