Tremors felt in Delhi-NCR After 6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Nepal

A powerful earthquake tremors were felt across the Delhi -NCR region, causing widespread alarm on a Tuesday afternoon, October 3. The seismic tremors rippled across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and even extended their reach to parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.


The temblor struck with a forceful impact at around 2:40 p.m., its epicenter pinpointed in Talkot , Bajhang in Nepal . Its seismic ripples reached far and wide. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, felt the tremors, as did neighboring districts like Doti, Accham, and Bajura, all nestled within the Sudur Paschim province.

Interestingly, there was a discrepancy in the reported magnitude of the quake. While the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre reported it as a magnitude 5.3 event, India's National Centre for Seismology (NCS) registered it at a more intense 6.2 on the Richter scale.
