In a significant escalation that followed recent ceasefire discussions, India’s Operation Sindoor has dramatically altered the strategic landscape across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. While the intervening night of May 11 and 12 passed peacefully in Jammu and Kashmir and other border regions, the calm belied the scale of devastation unleashed just days earlier.
Indian forces have now released striking satellite images revealing the extent of destruction at various air bases and terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK. These visuals, shared on Sunday, highlight the impact of a series of "coordinated precision missile strikes on nine terrorist facilities; four in Pakistan (including Bahawalpur and Muridke) and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (such as Muzaffarabad and Kotli). These facilities were key command centres for Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), responsible for attacks like Pulwama (2019) and Mumbai (2008)."
According to the Indian Air Force , the operation was executed with pinpoint accuracy, adhering strictly to national goals. "This multi-dimensional operation successfully neutralised terrorist threats, deterred Pakistani aggression, and reinforced India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism, all while maintaining strategic restraint and international support," the Indian forces added.
In response to Pakistani drone and missile attacks between May 7 and 9 that targeted Indian cities and military installations, India retaliated with an aggressive counter-offensive. "In response to Pakistan’s retaliatory drone and missile attacks on May 7, 8 and 9th 2025, targeting multiple Indian cities and military installations, India launched kamikaze drones to destroy Pakistani air defences across the country, including neutralising air defence system of Lahore," the statement from Indian forces added.
The most intense barrage came during the night of May 9 and 10, when Indian forces systematically targeted 11 Pakistani air bases, crippling key military infrastructure. "Within 3 hours 11 bases were attacked, including Nur Khan, Rafiqui, Murid, Sukkur, Sialkot, Pasrur, Chunian, Sargodha, Skaru, Bholari and Jacobabad," it added. Before-and-after imagery of Shahbaz airbase at Jacobabad illustrates the dramatic scale of destruction.
Strategic assets such as ammunition depots and fighter jet bases including Sargodha and Bholari were directly hit. These strikes reportedly incapacitated around 20% of Pakistan's air force infrastructure. The attack on Bholari Air Base proved particularly lethal, with over 50 fatalities reported, including Pakistan’s squadron leader Usman Yousuf and four airmen. Several F-16s and JF-17 fighter jets were also destroyed in the assault.
Throughout Operation Sindoor, India struck multiple high-value military and terror-linked targets across Pakistan, reinforcing its hardened posture against cross-border terrorism while showcasing its precision-strike capabilities.
