However, depending on the payment method selected, additional banking charges may apply.

Charges for Reprinting or Updating an Existing PAN Card

In cases where a PAN card is lost, damaged, or needs corrections, applicants can request a reprint or update. For Indian residents, this service is priced at Rs.110. The fee includes a processing charge of Rs.93 plus 18% GST. The application process remains the same as that for a new PAN card. These charges are applicable only if the communication address remains within India.


PAN Card Fees for Non-Resident Individuals and Foreign Entities

For individuals or entities with an overseas communication address, the PAN card charges are notably higher due to additional dispatch costs. A new PAN application in such cases costs Rs.1,011. This includes an application and dispatch fee of Rs.857 plus 18% GST. Similarly, if someone residing abroad needs a reprint or correction on their PAN card, the fee rises to Rs.1,020, which includes Rs.93 for processing and Rs.771 for international dispatch, along with applicable GST.

Digital-Only PAN Cards (e-PAN) and Their Cost

Applicants now have the choice to opt solely for an e-PAN card, which is a digital version sent via email. This option is especially beneficial for those who do not need a physical copy or are looking to save on courier charges. The fee for an e-PAN card is uniform at Rs.66, inclusive of GST, regardless of whether the communication address is Indian or international. It’s a cost-effective and fast alternative, especially for digital-first users.


Available Payment Methods for PAN Card Services

The method of payment accepted for PAN applications varies based on the communication address provided by the applicant. The most commonly used options are debit/credit cards, net banking, and demand drafts.

For Addresses Within India

Applicants residing in India can use multiple payment methods, including credit or debit cards, demand drafts, and net banking. It’s important to note that payments made via credit or debit cards may incur a surcharge of up to 2% of the application fee, which is levied by the bank. Additionally, taxes may apply depending on the financial institution’s policy. For those opting for demand drafts, they must be payable to 'NSDL PAN' (now known as Protean eGov Technologies Limited) and drawn on a Mumbai-based bank. Net banking users will incur a small surcharge, typically Rs.4 plus service tax.

For Addresses Outside India

International applicants can make payments using credit/debit cards or by sending a demand draft payable to 'NSDL PAN' in Mumbai. Credit/debit card users should be aware of extra charges, including a 2% transaction fee plus applicable taxes. Additionally, foreign applicants might also face currency conversion fees or international transaction surcharges imposed by their bank.
