The Indian government frequently introduces new schemes to support farmers, and one such initiative is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan dhan Yojana . Launched in 2018, this scheme provides a pension of ₹3,000 per month to eligible farmers. However, not all farmers can benefit from this scheme. Let's explore why some farmers are excluded and who exactly is ineligible for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan dhan Yojana .

What is the Kisan Maan dhan Yojana ?

The Kisan Maan dhan Yojana is a national pension scheme aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers. To participate, farmers must contribute as little as ₹55 per month. Once they reach the age of 60, they receive a monthly pension of ₹3,000. Importantly, there is no processing fee for joining this scheme, and if a farmer decides to exit the scheme later, their contributions, along with interest, will be refunded.

Who is Ineligible for the Scheme?

Farmers who are already benefiting from other pension schemes, such as the National Pension Scheme (NPS), Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Scheme, or Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme, are not eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan dhan Yojana. Additionally, those who are enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, which is run by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, cannot avail of this scheme. The same applies to individuals benefiting from or selected for the Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari Maan dhan Yojana.

Other Ineligibility Criteria

Farmers with more than two hectares of land or an annual income exceeding ₹18 lakh are also excluded from this scheme. Regular contributions are required to remain eligible for the benefits.

Understanding these criteria is essential for farmers to determine their eligibility and to ensure they can take advantage of the support offered by the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan dhan Yojana.
