India-Pakistan Showdown Set For Women's Asia Cup 2024: Check Full Schedule Here

India, the reigning champions, are set to face off against their long-standing rivals Pakistan, alongside UAE and Nepal, in Group A of the upcoming Women's Asia Cup T20 Championships . Scheduled to commence on July 19th in Dambulla, Sri Lanka , this nine-day tournament will witness the participation of eight teams, marking an increase from the previous edition.


Unlike before, the teams will be divided into two groups, with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia comprising Group B.

The top two teams from each group will secure their spots in the semifinals, slated for July 26th, with the final showdown scheduled for July 28th. India boasts a formidable track record in the tournament, clinching the title on seven occasions.

The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan is set to unfold on July 21st. Reflecting on the expanded participation and intensified competition among the teams, Jay Shah , President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), expressed enthusiasm, citing it as a testament to the growing prominence and significance of women's cricket in the region. This expansion, from six teams in 2018 to seven in 2022, and now eight, underscores the commitment to nurturing the women's game and harnessing the burgeoning talent pool across Asian cricket.

The Asia Cup not only serves as a platform for fierce competition but also holds strategic importance in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup , slated to kick off in Bangladesh in September.
