The highly anticipated Indian Premier League 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was washed out on Saturday without a single ball bowled, thanks to relentless rain.

The washout had major playoff implications. For KKR, it was the final nail in the coffin. Stuck at 12 points from 13 matches, the defending champions are now officially out of the playoff race—joining Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminated list.

RCB, however, had reasons to smile. The shared points pushed them to the top of the table with 17 points from 12 games, just ahead of Gujarat Titans (16 points from 11 matches), who will take on Delhi Capitals on Sunday in a crucial face-off in Delhi.

Punjab Kings are close behind in third place with 15 points from 11 games and will play Rajasthan Royals in the Sunday afternoon game. Mumbai Indians hold fourth with 14 points from 12 matches.
