After months of eager anticipation, OpenAI has launched the ChatGPT mobile application for Android users. The Android version of the app arrives close to two months after the initial release on iOS.

As of now, the ChatGPT Android app is available in four countries: the United States, India , Bangladesh, and Brazil. Instead of a global release, OpenAI has chosen a staged rollout approach.

The announcement of the Android app's launch was made last week, with users eagerly awaiting its arrival in the final week of July. Interestingly, this release comes at a time when ChatGPT has faced challenges in traffic and experienced slower response times.

OpenAI has ambitious plans to expand the availability of the Android app in the coming weeks. Previously limited to iOS users, this latest development opens the doors for millions of Android users to experience the wonders of ChatGPT. The app is offered for free and conveniently syncs user history across devices, allowing users to access the latest improvements from OpenAI.

ChatGPT, introduced by OpenAI in November 2022, is a highly advanced chatbot based on large language models. Its remarkable ability to provide human-like responses has captured the world's attention. Incredibly, the chatbot achieved a significant milestone, becoming the fastest internet application to acquire over 100 million users in just four months since its launch. Powered by the GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 models, access to GPT-4 is currently limited to ChatGPT Plus members, who can subscribe for Rs 1,999 per month in India.
