Google One Lite: New Affordable Cloud Storage Plan In Testing Phase
If you're an Android user, you’ve likely come across Google One, Google’s cloud storage service that provides extra space along with a few additional perks. Recently, Google appears to be experimenting with a new “Google One Lite” plan, but for now, it’s only being offered to a select number of users.
The Google One Lite plan stands apart from the existing Google One Basic plan, which provides 100GB of storage and the ability to share it with up to 5 family members. In contrast, the Lite plan is priced at Rs 59 per month and offers 30GB of storage across Google Photos , Drive , and Gmail .
Similar to other Google One subscription plans, the Lite version also seems to come with a one-month free trial for those who want to test it out. This lower-priced option is likely designed for users who have exceeded the free 15GB of storage that Google offers, but don’t require much additional cloud storage for photos or documents.
However, it’s important to note that the Google One Lite plan is currently only visible to a small group of users. When we tried to access it from another account, the lowest option available remained the Basic plan, which includes 100GB of storage.
As of now, it’s uncertain when or if Google plans to roll out the Lite plan to all users, so it might take some time before this budget-friendly option becomes available on your account.
