In response to TikTok's immense popularity, Meta introduced Instagram Reels in 2020, a short-video feature allowing users to craft one-minute videos, prominently showcased on the platform's Explore Page. These bite-sized creations have rapidly evolved into Meta's most rapidly growing content format, offering creators a platform to generate ad revenue. Now, Instagram has rolled out a feature permitting users to download Reels from others' Stories, enabling them to view and share these videos outside the app. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to download Instagram Reels effortlessly on both Android and iOS devices.

# How to Download Instagram Reels without Third-Party Apps :

1. Launch the Instagram app: Open the app on your Android or iOS device.

2. Select the Reel: Choose the Reel you wish to save and click on the Share icon.

3. Add to Your Story: Tap to add the Reel to your story.

4. Zoom and Save: Zoom in the preview, click on the three-dot menu on the top, and hit the Save option.

5. Discard the Story: Once saved, discard the story without posting it.

By following these simple steps, users can easily access the downloaded Reel from their device's camera roll. Notably, the downloaded video does not carry the Instagram watermark and displays the account username.

However, it's important to note that currently, only Reels shared from public accounts are available for download. Reels shared from private Instagram accounts cannot be downloaded. Moreover, users with public accounts have the option to disable the download feature in their app settings.

In a recent announcement made by Instagram head Adam Mosseri , users in the US will soon be able to download Reels from public accounts directly onto their camera roll. Prior to this update, users could only share Reels from public accounts in their Stories or through chat.
