WhatsApp, a widely-used instant messaging application owned by Meta , is reportedly gearing up to launch a novel marketing messages feature within its business version, aiming to facilitate businesses in reaching a broader audience.

"After installing the latest WhatsApp Business beta for Android 2.23.24.22 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is now releasing marking messages," disclosed WABetaInfo in its report.

The Meta-owned app had outlined intentions to bolster transparency concerning businesses utilising Meta’s services, seeking to achieve this goal by introducing a special event feature in conversations. These events would specifically revolve around interactions related to offers and announcements conveyed through marketing messages.

According to the report, the recently introduced feature, dubbed Marketing Messages, can be accessed within the Business Tools tab subsequent to installing the latest updates of the business app. This feature empowers businesses to schedule the dispatch of messages and personalise each message with the recipient's name through the establishment of templates.

Moreover, businesses can leverage marketing messages as a tool to scrutinise the performance of their messages, gaining insights on how to enhance the overall business experience for their customers.

Businesses can opt to test this feature by remitting a certain fee, the amount of which may fluctuate depending on the country. This allows them to effectively manage the cost associated with each message sent, ensuring they always adhere to their budget.

The report posits that this feature significantly streamlines the process for businesses to connect with a larger audience simultaneously, disseminating new offers and announcements such as coupons, sales, and promotions.

"We consider it beneficial for those small businesses with a more limited reach compared to larger enterprises. When businesses create and share marketing messages, their customers are always notified when they receive such messages," remarked WABetaInfo.

The marketing messages feature is currently accessible to select beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp Business beta for Android updates from the Google Play Store. The rollout of this feature is expected to reach an expanding user base over the ensuing weeks.
