WhatsApp Introduces Screen-Sharing Feature And Revamps Navigation Bar: What You Need To Know

WhatsApp continues to enhance its platform with a range of new features, including the recent addition of the highly anticipated 'screen-sharing' feature. Currently available for Android beta testers, this new functionality allows users to share their screens during video calls, similar to popular platforms like Google Meet and Zoom.

However, it's important to note that this feature may not be supported on older versions of Android and could have limitations during large group calls. Recipients using outdated versions of WhatsApp will not be able to view the shared content on the user's screen.

To enable the screen-sharing feature, users will need to provide consent to share their screens during video calls. Alongside this update, some users may notice minor modifications in the layout of the bottom navigation bar after installing the latest WhatsApp beta version .

The order of tabs within the bottom navigation bar has been rearranged, with the following tabs now displayed for select users: Chats, Calls, Communities, and Status. This change aims to streamline navigation and improve user experience.

Additionally, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature called "WhatsApp usernames." This upcoming feature will allow users to choose unique usernames for their accounts, reducing reliance solely on phone numbers to identify contacts. With this update, users may be able to connect with others within the app by simply entering their usernames, eliminating the need for knowledge of phone numbers.

WhatsApp continues to evolve and introduce innovative features to enhance communication and user engagement. Stay tuned for further updates and improvements as the platform strives to meet the evolving needs of its users.
