WhatsApp Multiple Accounts Feature Launched! Now Manage 2 Accounts on a Single Phone - Here's How
Are you juggling multiple WhatsApp accounts and tired of the constant logging in and out to access your personal and work profiles? Good news! WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has officially announced the upcoming release of a feature that will simplify managing multiple accounts on a single device.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of the social media giant, made the exciting announcement on Facebook. WhatsApp will soon offer users the ability to seamlessly switch between their accounts on one device, eliminating the need to carry around an extra phone or tablet or endure the inconvenience of repeatedly logging in and out of various accounts.
With this "Dual WhatsApp Account" feature, users will gain the convenience of effortlessly transitioning between different accounts within the app, simplifying the management of conversations across multiple profiles.
Here are the essential steps to keep in mind when setting up and using multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single device:
1. Check Your Device: To use the Dual WhatsApp Account feature, your device must support multiple SIM cards or eSIM connectivity. If not, you may need to use a secondary device to set up the second account.
2. Secondary Phone Number: You'll need a second phone number, which can be either a physical SIM card or an e-SIM number. This number is necessary to receive the one-time passcode sent by WhatsApp for account access.
3. Follow These Steps:
- Update your WhatsApp app to the latest version.
- Open the Settings menu from the three-dot option in the top left corner of the app.
- In the Settings menu, you'll find a small arrow next to your name; tap on it.
- Select "Add account" and enter your second phone number.
- Verify the second number with the code sent to you via SMS or a call.
- Once the second account is verified and set up, you can switch between accounts by tapping the arrow next to your name.
- Tap the arrow again and select the account you want to use.
4. Customize Each Account: You'll have the flexibility to customize privacy and notification preferences separately for each account. Additionally, you can independently enable other settings such as muting or archiving conversations, deleting messages, or blocking specific contacts for each account.
WhatsApp's Dual WhatsApp Account feature promises to simplify the management of multiple WhatsApp profiles on a single device, enhancing user convenience and efficiency. Stay tuned for its release in the coming days!
