WhatsApp Rolls Out Bubble Typing Indicator Alongside New Features

WhatsApp has launched a revamped typing indicator for iPhone and Android users, enhancing the messaging experience. Starting this week, the new update changes how users see who is typing, bringing the indicator directly into the chat feed.

Previously, the app displayed a “typing” notification at the top of the chat bar. The update now integrates this feature into the main chat feed.

How the New Typing Indicator Works
The typing indicator appears as a bubble on the right side of the chat screen, showing three moving dots while the other person types. This feature activates by default for individual and group chats, allowing users to track typing activity seamlessly across conversations.

In the past, WhatsApp users saw the “typing” label below the display picture of their chat partner. With this update, the redesigned indicator represents one of the most significant user interface changes WhatsApp has introduced in years.

Additional Enhancements Coming to WhatsApp
Beyond this UI overhaul, WhatsApp is introducing advanced features leveraging Meta AI. These include a chat memory function, which enables the AI chatbot to recall prior interactions, and a voice mode for hands-free assistance, similar to Gemini Live.

The app is also exploring more customization options, such as theme changes that go beyond light and dark modes. Additionally, users can create personalized lists that appear prominently at the top of the chat feed, ensuring better organization.

With these updates, WhatsApp continues to refine its platform, blending innovative functionality with intuitive design to stay ahead in the messaging app market.
