WhatsApp's Latest Update Enables Sharing of Photos and Videos in Their Original Quality as Files
WhatsApp has introduced a new update for iOS, allowing users to send media files in their original quality.
The most recent update on the App Store ensures that photos and videos shared through the app maintain their quality without any loss or compression.
To access this functionality, open the chat sharing options, tap "Document," and then "Choose Photo or Video" to send your media file as a document.
Additional features
Originally unveiled in the WhatsApp beta within the iOS 23.23.1.74 update, the feature was initially limited to a specific group. However, with the recent release of the 23.24.73 update, it is now gradually becoming available to all users.
In addition to enhancing the ability to share high-quality media files, the update also introduces the option to initiate voice chats in large groups without ringing everyone at once.
The latest update brings in chat bubbles that allow you to check missed, ongoing and completed calls swiftly. Additionally, you can now react to status updates by using avatars.
The feature is in the process of being introduced
Before, sharing uncompressed media through WhatsApp meant altering file extensions to PDF or DOC. However, this new feature removes that need altogether.
Don't worry if you haven't received these features yet, as they are scheduled to roll out to some accounts in the upcoming weeks according to the official changelog.
