Following Swiggy ’s lead, Zomato , India’s popular food delivery platform, has launched a new ‘ Order Scheduling ’ feature that allows users to plan and pre-order meals . This feature gives users control over their delivery times, enabling orders to be scheduled from 2 hours to 2 days in advance. Currently, over 35,000 restaurants across 30 cities, including major hubs like Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune, support this feature.

How to Use Zomato’s Order Scheduling Feature
To access the new scheduling option, open the Zomato app, navigate to the ‘Delivery’ tab, and look under the ‘All Restaurants’ section. You’ll see a new ‘Schedule’ option, which lets you select a delivery date and time. After selecting the preferred time, Zomato will list available restaurants that can fulfill your order.

Once you’ve chosen your meal, simply add it to the cart. On the checkout page, Zomato will confirm that it’s a scheduled delivery and notify you that the food will be prepared shortly before the chosen time. If your plans change, you can cancel the order up to three hours before the scheduled time without any hassle.

Zomato has carefully curated restaurants for this feature, selecting those with a consistent record of meeting kitchen prep times. These restaurants will receive advance notifications to ensure timely preparation and delivery. Zomato initially tested the scheduling feature in select cities for orders over ₹1,000 earlier this year, and after a successful trial, it has now been expanded to a wider user base.
