Nine pairs of trains get additional coaches

PATNA: The railways has attached additional sleeper and general coaches to nine pairs of mail and express trains, which originate from different places under the jurisdiction of the East Central Railway (ECR). This arrangement has been made for a period of for six months in order to clear the rush of passengers.

“The Danapur-Sahibganj Intercity Express (13235/13236) and the Jaynagar-Manihari Janki Express (15483/15484) now have two additional general coaches each. Besides, one general coach has been added to the Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Banka Express (13241/13242),” the CPRO told this newspaper.

The railways has also attached additional coaches to the Jaynagar-Patna Intercity Express (15549/15550), Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Jaynagar Intercity (13225/13226), Dhanbad-Ranchi Intercity Express (13303/13304), Ranchi-Deoghar Express (13319/13320) and Gaya-Dhanbad Intercity Express (13305/13306).

Meanwhile, a decision to remove two sleeper coaches and attach one AC-II and AC-III coach each to the Rajgir-New Delhi Shramjeevi Express (12391/12392) from February 19, 2020 has been taken by the railways.

“The occupancy rate in all Delhi-bound trains from Bihar is high. This decision has been taken to cope with passengers’ rush,” the CPRO said.
