No place for violence, says VHP; claims crimes against Hindus in Muslim-majority areas of India increasing

New Delhi: The Vishva Hindu Parishad released a statement saying that violence against Hindus in Muslim-majority areas of India has increased.

Mentioning cases from all over the country, the VHP said India is governed by its Constitution and Rule of Law and that there should be no place for violence in the social life of the country.

It goes on to say that all forms of violence, no matter, who does it and against who is reprehensible and unforgivable.

In recent times, many incidents of mob-lynchings and other forms of violence against Hindus by some Muslims have been reported in various parts of the ‘Bharat’ which includes murders, rapes, desecration of Holy places and vandalisation of properties.

This shows that Muslim society, especially in Muslim dominated areas, is becoming intolerant and violent, the VHP says.

The pamphlet mentions several cases from Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Haryana, Delhi, UP.

On May 24, an Assamese vendor was lynched recently after his cycle collided with the SUV of the accused. Five people were accused of killing Deka and two of them have been arrested.

From Bihar, the VHP has mentioned two cases of gang rape with Dalit women and one attempt two rape case.

In the first case, no arrest has been made so far and the VHP claims that the SHO of the place is threatening Dalits.

“The free fun of the incidents show that police and the administration tacitly ignore or are complicit in the commission of such offences,” it says.

From West Bengal, it has mentioned the three-day violence which broke out in Telni Pada village in Hooghly district.

One murder case from Jharkhand is related to anti-CAA protests were a Neeraj Prajapati was killed for participating in pro-CAA protests in Lohardaga.

Talking about Karnataka, it says that the state witnessed a spate of murders in the year 2017-2018 with eight cases.

'Many Hindu families in Mewat have been forced to leave and migrate from their homes'

Multiple cases of persecution of Hindus have been reported from Mewat in Haryana and many Hindus have been forced to leave and migrate from their homes. In many villages there are no Hindus living there, the statement reads.

“In one case, during a marriage celebration in a Valmiki family in Chirauli Punhana, Muslims attacked, beat up the baratis and looted away their gold ornaments. An FIR has been filed with Punhana police station,” VHP said.

IB staffer Ankit Sharma's brutal murder has also been mentioned and the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government has been accused of “doing a lot of politics in this incident.”

From Uttar Pradesh, Hindu Samaj Party leader Kamlesh Tiwari murder in 2019 and Chandan Gupta murder case been mentioned.
