Noida administration extends night curfew, issues SOPs for RWAs; police launch plasma initiative in city

Noida: The city administration has now extended the night curfew in a bid to curb the read of coronavirus. Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Suhas L Y in an order, said, "The curfew which was earlier imposed till April 17 will be in force from 8 pm to 7 am till April 30 across the district, including Noida and Greater Noida."

What is exempted?

  • The movement of essential goods or commodities and medical and other essential services 
  • Pregnant women and those in need of medical help would also be allowed
  • The central and state government officials and medical staff 
  • Print and electronic media personnel 
  • Travellers going to airport, railway station and bus stand will be allowed movement during night time if they show valid travel ticket

Apart from that, the administration has issued a list of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the  RWAs of the city amid the rising number of coronavirus cases in the city.

Here are a few pointers from the SOPSs:

  • Swimming pool, indoor gym, community centres and common areas in containment zones shall remain closed except for medical and essential services.
  • The SOPs also stated that the number of people in elevators shall be restricted, duly maintaining physical distancing norms for which proper markings should be made on the floor of the elevators.
  • Only asymptomatic staff or visitors shall be allowed entry, individuals must maintain a minimum distance of six feet in common places as far as feasible, and use face covers or masks at all times.
  • Cleaning and regular disinfection using one per cent sodium hypochlorite of frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, elevator buttons, handrails, benches, washroom fixtures, must be done in common areas at least twice a day.
  • Entrances of societies should have mandatory provisions for hand hygiene like sanitiser dispensers, thermal screening while there should be proper cleaning and frequent sanitisation, at least twice a day, of the frequently touched surfaces.
  • Shops must ensure physical distancing norms are being followed at all times and staff should take their temperature regularly and check for respiratory symptoms and must see a doctor if they feel unwell or show flu-like symptoms,
  • Noida police launch plasma initiative

    The Noida police, keeping in mind the rising number of coronavirus cases in the city, have now launched a  plasma facilitating initiative for the coronavirus patients in the city,  Reports suggest that the police commissioner has launched a helpline number – 8851066433 – that will help connect people in need of plasma with donors, an official told the media.

    Reports further suggest that the district police have also created a Google document form https://forms.gle/ho3NJuYCS9ZRPUJA8. It has been said that this could be accessed online by people to provide information of the patient for finding a plasma donor. A police spokesperson said that this initiative aims at both the purposes – receiving as well as donating plasma.
