Noida: Bhagat Singh park to get lakeside eatery

NOIDA: The 40-acre Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park , which is being developed by Noida Authority in Sector 150, will have a restaurant near a waterbody on its premises.

Built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.46 crore, the restaurant contains a dining deck facing the water, landscaped courtyard, kitchen, toilets etc.

It will be opened to public in August along with the Park's slated inauguration. The eatery , touted to be called as “Lake Side Restaurant” is connected to land from all sides and has a three-metre wide bridge to the waterfront.

“We are finishing the building of the lakeside restaurant, which will be opened to public at the time of inauguration of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, which is slated for August 15 as per directive of CEO Alok Tandon. The water body of the park has also been developed and it is about one-metre deep,” said Rajeev Tyagi general manager Noida Authority.

The covered area of the restaurant is 529 square metres and the pier to experience the waterfront will be built within the estimated cost of the restaurant. “There’s no separate cost for the pier,” said Tyagi.

The Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park in Sector 150 is being developed by Noida Authority to commemorate the martyrs and freedom fighters of the country. It is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 28.30 crore. “It will be a major resource for residents of neighbouring areas. Apart from providing a green cover for the area, it will also add to the ecological balance of the region,” said Tyagi, adding that the park is being developed on self-sustainable model in terms of water and waste management. “Following a policy of zero waste discharge, all the waste generated inside the park will be treated and recycled within the premises in an eco-friendly manner,” said Tyagi.
