Out of Bihar pact, Left to fight it alone

CPM and CPI, elbowed out of the RJD-Congress ‘Mahagathbandhan’ in Bihar , are likely to field candidates on seats which they had sought from the alliance.

In an indication that this was not the end of the road for former JNU students’ union president Kanhaiya Kumar , whom the CPI wants to field from Begusarai , party leaders told TOI that the Bihar state executive had called a meeting on Sunday to take a decision on the “future course of action”.

Even though CPI (ML) will get one seat from RJD’s quota, it is likely that CPI and CPM will force triangular contests in Begusarai, Motihari, Khagaria and Madhubani.
