He scored 19 runs in the first innings at Adelaide Oval on the 1999 tour of Australia, but was dismissed for zero in the second innings. Melbourne cricket then returned to the pavilion without opening an account in both innings.

After this, Ajit Agarkar was dismissed for zero in the first innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on the tour of Australia in 2000. The next time in the second innings in the SCG, he played like the first ball, but was again dismissed on the second ball.

However, in the next Test match, he scored a run and after this, he also expressed happiness by raising the bat. But Australian cricketers continued to make fun of him. In the year 2001, when Australia met at Wankhede Stadium, Agarkar was again dismissed on the Golden Duck in both innings.

This particular record is registered in the name of Agarkar

Agarkar, who made his ODI debut against Australia in 1998 in Kochi, also holds the record for the fastest half-century for India in ODI cricket. He scored 50 runs in just 21 balls against Zimbabwe in the year 2000.

Obviously, even on the international platform, Agarkar did not take much time to prove himself. Ajith scored a century while batting at number 8 in the Mecca Lords of cricket. Ajit Agarkar did that feat, which even a great batsman like Sachin Tendulkar could not do.

In 2002, when Sourav Ganguly fielded him to bat at number three against the West Indies, Ajit too did not disappoint his captain and played a brilliant innings of 95 runs. Ajit Agarkar also holds the record for scoring 200 wickets and 1000 runs in the lowest ODI matches. He broke Sean Paulk’s record of 138 matches.

Ajit Agarkar also managed to make his mark as an all-rounder due to his strong performance from both the ball and bat. He was even compared to former veteran all-rounder Kapil Dev.
