Pan-city drive for verifying tenants

Allahabad: Police have intensified the drive for verification of tenants in all city police stations and this time with a special focus to keep a watch on floating population. The move comes after three trouble makers were arrested during a campaign for the verification of tenants.

Ahead of Ayodhya verdict, the exercise was launched in four police stations of the city including Dhoomanganj , Kareli, Kotwali, and Colonelganj.

During the exercise, the police have checked the credentials of over 1200 tenants and nabbed three persons with dubious characters. However, post Ayodhya verdict, the campaign has been extended to all police stations.

SSP, Prayagraj, Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj told TOI that tenant verification forms have been provided to all police stations of the city and cops have also been asked to cover all pockets and mohallahs.

He appealed landlords to approach thana and get the credentials of tenants verified.
