Panchkula: Caretaker found murdered outside Pinjore temple

PANCHKULA: The caretaker of Guga Madi temple in Pinjore was found murdered outside the shrine on Monday morning.

The body of Gian Singh bore injury marks on head.

Balbir Singh, 44, a daily wager and resident of Karanpur village in Pinjore, said in his police complaint, “My uncle Gian Singh was unmarried and lived on the temple premises.

At times, he would sleep under a tree outside the shine. Around 4.30am, my son, Rajveer Singh, went to the temple. On way back home, he saw Gian Singh lying unconscious on a cot outside the temple. When he went near him, he saw blood coming out of his head.”

Rajveer called up his father, who rushed to the spot and sounded village representative Raghuvir Singh and the police. “Preliminary investigation shows that Gian Singh was attacked with wooden sticks that caused his death.”

A case has been registered under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC.
