Paraglider crash kills Mohali man

MANALI: A 24-year-old tourist from Mohali was killed while a pilot injured after a paraglider crashed at Solang valley of Manali on Saturday evening.


Amandeep Singh, a resident of Phase II, Mohali, had come to Manali for a holiday with his friend on Friday. On Saturday, both went to Solang for sightseeing and Amandeep decided to try his hand at paragliding .

He did tandem flight with pilot Ranveer Singh, a resident of Burua village of Manali. After a while, the pilot lost control of the paraglider and it crashed near the landing ground. The tourist died on the spot, while pilot was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Manali deputy superintendent of police Sher Singh Thakur said family members of victim have been informed. A case under Sections 336 and 304 A of the IPC was registered.
