Patiala: Fatehgarh Sahib gets new bus stand

PATIALA: The newly constructed bus stand at Fatehgarh Sahib was inaugurated on Monday. Punjab transport minister Razia Sultana said.


the bus stand cost Rs 3.5 crore and had been named after Sikh warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.

She said the state government would start new routes to facilitate passengers in the region.

“To commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a special bus service will be started from November 1, from Fatehgarh Sahib to Dera Baba Nanak,” she said. Announcing Rs 10 lakh as a grant for the development of Fatehgarh Sahib, the transport minister said two special bus shelters would also be constructed near Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and at old bus stand in Sirhind. tnn
